Extensions
The Acefone portal allows you to manage extensions. You may view/edit, as well as regenerate password for extensions.
An extension is used to register the endpoint to your IP Phone/softphone that is used for making/answering incoming/outgoing calls.
Extension registration is simply a mechanism where a phone identifies the person associated, authenticated with a username and password, IP address, to redirect incoming calls on it.
The Extensions function in the Acefone enables you to create and manage your PBX and gives you the provision to add, edit, block, deactivate or delete them. You can edit a bulk of extensions, regenerate security credentials (SIP ID & authentication, web client password, voicemail PIN, etc), and set status for selected extension(s).
Admin can register an extension on behalf of the customer. Though customers could edit the extension details and can add extensions if they have a user license in their account.
To update an extension, click on Select an Action next to it and hit Edit.
Enter the required details & click Save.

| User Name | Name of extension. |
| Allowed IPs | Choose Allow All IPs if you want to allocate all IPs to the extension. If you want to give access to a list of some IPs, then choose Selected IP. |
| Intercom No | 3 digit abbreviation for quick dialing of extension. |
| Ring Timeout (in seconds) | Enter the time in seconds for which extension should ring before timeout. |
| Caller ID | Assign a caller ID to the extension by choosing it from the list of caller IDs for outbound calls. |
| Music on Hold | Select music to be played while on hold. |
| Voicemail | Select recording to be played in voicemail. |
| Codec | A coder encodes a data stream or a signal for transmission or storage, possibly in encrypted form, and the decoder function reverses the encoding for playback or editing. |
| Assign to User | User to which extension will be assigned. |
| Follow me Number | A follow me number is an internal or external number that you choose to forward all your incoming calls.Please enter number with country code. |
| Twinning Number | A twinning number is one which rings along with extension. Keep blank to disable twinning. Please enter numbers with country code. |
| Follow me Ring Timeout (in seconds) | Enter the time (in seconds) for which the call should ring at the follow me number. |
| Call Strategy | Choose the call strategy from the dropdown list which defines how the incoming call needs to be routed to an extension. |
| Transport Method | Select the method on which the incoming call will be received on the extension. |
To regenerate password for an extension, click on Regenerate link next to it.
It regenerates the password for the selected extension. You can use this details to configure the extension on third-party softphones or IP phones.
Click on Regenerate Password For All Extensions button present on the top-right corner to regenerate password for all extensions.
