How to remove the Windows logo?

Got into a really annoying situation in the middle of the workday. Windows popped up an activation message, and now there's this annoying watermark in the corner. I don't have the time or money to buy a license right now. Can you tell me if there's a reliable way to quickly get the software back up and running so it doesn't glitch and lets me work normally?
